Gaillac hosts an annual wine festival and during July and August free concerts are held in the abbey gardens (actually 5€ but this includes two glasses of wine and a small plate of nibbles) The Tour de France passed through in 2011.

Realmont          

Realmont hosts an annual five day free music festival. It is has a strong country and western influence and there are spontaneous outbreaks of line dancing, something the French take very seriously, yea hah !

There is also a huge presence of 50's to 90's American cars, hard to count but around eighty to a hundred and the same number of Harley Davidson bikes plus a large collection of VW powered trikes. Add to this loads of stalls selling cheap food and drink and the obligatory stetsons and cowboy boots and the thirty or so bands are a bonus. We go during the afternoons and then later in the evening as the better bands tend to be on late.

Albi          
Albi hosts a number of events through out the year starting with two carnivals in Late February / Early March. There are a lot of decorated floats and people on foot, marching bands etc, at the end of the route is a stage where some acts perform - impressive as the route is over two hours long.July there is a large music festival with a large stage built by the cathedral and smaller stages around the town. There are many stalls and a good selection of food stores. Some events are free but big name acts are not. This event also attracts a number of street performers - rare in France. There are also a couple of large fairs during the year. The events attract tens of thousands of people. July there is a huge fire work display. Albi has a good selection of restaurants and museums

Orban          
A small village about five km from us, like most villages, they have their annual fete. In Orban the main event is driving Bulls through the streets, the spectators are protected by a three foot high, free standing barrier, The horses and bulls come past very fast!In the evening there is a multi course meal and wine, of course!

Lasgraisses          

Our village, there are a surprisingly quite a few things going on here. There are the annual events, the Bastille Day calibration, the Mayors picnic, Paella Sunday and Aligot Night ( sausage and cheesy mash, and lots of drinks!), a night of traditional French music in the square, a Christmas fair and a bi annual news years party. There are also bingo nights and a fishing competition and Pétanque (boules) matches.

There is a new, smaller hall in the village and this has music events, so far we have been to a Indian music night and a North African jazz night. The village church has a summer classical music concert.

Fenols          
A small village about 4km from us. It has an annual event three day music event that attracts huge amounts of people from the surrounding areas. The first time we went to one we were amazed at the fields full of parked cars. There is a small village square with a large stage and dance floor and a large bar. They provide fast food all night - chips, sausage, mussels and often Irish food for the Irish night.
